Government clears procurement of 464 T-90 tanks

The cabinet committee of security cleared the proposal for the procurement of 464 T-90 tanks from Russia. The cost of acquisition is expected to worth over 13000 crores. The acquisition will increase the new T-90 regiments by 10 more units. The detail also includes making in India for integration at heavy vehicles factory in Chennai. It would be equipped with thermal imaging night sights making tanks capable strike during the night battles. T-90 battles are expected to be deployed on the borders with Pakistan.
